My share, women’s share, a half of Azadi

Filed under: Uncategorized — Femiran @ 1:37 pm

Wednesday, Iranian national football team had a match with Bosnia. Some of Iranian women activists used this opportunity to declare their deprived right to attend the stadium, once more. This time, like the pervious times, the police didn’t let us to enter. They attacked women who were shouting their slogans “My share, women’s share, a half of Azadi”, “Freedom, Equality, Gender justice”, “Attendance to the stadium is our right”. Last year, around this time, women tried to attend and succeeded. But, several times after that they didn’t let them to enter and beat them. On Wednesday, police didn’t let photographers to take photos. They confiscated their cameras and ruined all the photos. For the first time, they used policewomen who surrounded us not let anyone see us.

After the half time was passed and we were still behind the close doors, we headed back to the city and shouted our slogans and anger while on the bus.  This is not going to be the last attempt. Some photos in my persian blog.
